Installation
With an IP value of IP20, our indoor lights are not certified for wet rooms. However, exterior lights have an IP value of IP65 and are therefore suitable for wet rooms.
Kitchens and bathrooms are not considered wet rooms when used normally, so BROKIS indoor lights can be used there.
In bathrooms, there are country-specific rules for the approval of 230-V outlets, regardless of the light. Lighting without a wet room protection class, i.e. with an IP value of IP20, may be installed in properly placed electrical outlets in the bathroom.
Mounting instructions for BROKIS luminaires can be found in our download section.
BROKIS lights are available with a variety of mounting options. Surface mounting (up) works in all situations. This also applies to suspended lights up to a roof slope of 30°.
For mounting flat, pure and recessed lighting, a suspended ceiling or cavity wall must be available for flush mounting.
For almost all BROKIS lights, a solution can be found with a sideways inlet if the electrical outlet is not in the right place.
BROKIS offers a free online configurator that speeds up the layout process by taking room dimensions and allowing for multiple point installation.
BROKIS studio also offers an installation service for specialised projects. To find out more enquire here.
Maintenance
As with all products, BROKIS lights require periodic cleaning. Dust, grease, and film affect the visual quality of any item made of glass. It is in the interest of the user to maintain the singular appearance of the lights.
This can only be achieved through regular cleaning. When neglected, the cleaning process becomes unnecessarily time consuming. The cleaning interval depends on the environment the lights are installed in and is primarily influenced by humidity levels, temperature stability, and the amount of dust in the air.
BROKIS applies the highest possible quality standards in manufacturing its lights.
Prior to shipping, each light undergoes several quality controls and stages of cleaning. Lights may require additional cleaning as a result of transportation, storage, and the amount of time that passes between packing and subsequent unpacking by the client. Therefore, we recommend cleaning the lights prior to installation.

LEDs have a life time of approximately 50,000 hours, which is equivalent to approximately 40 years of normal residential use. Even if a luminaire’s life time is reached, the individual LEDs do not go out, but instead gradually grow darker.
If an BROKIS LED luminaire no longer works, this can be due to a variety of different causes.
If the light fails, we recommend that you consult BROKIS at EDC. If they cannot find anything wrong with the application or installation, we’ll be happy to take your luminaire back for repair and replace individual components such as LED chips.
The glass of your BROKIS luminaires can be replaced. With different colours or surface, the lighting effect can always be changed.
The smaller lenses are placed behind the lens in the luminaire, the flat glasses are placed directly behind the lens and inserted together with it.
BROKIS developed a special connector to allow ease-of-use. It offers a remarkable degree of variability and near endless possibilities for creating unique interior lighting compositions.
You will find detailed instructions on how to replace the glass fittings in the installation guides that come with your light.
Warranty
The light is shipped with a warranty code.
To validate the warranty period, the product must be registered with BROKIS using the warranty code.
If no warranty code is enclosed or the code does not work, the product may already have been registered with BROKIS at EDC. In this case, you can contact BROKIS and have your case checked.
The product can be registered with BROKIS for a warranty period of two years. After the statutory warranty period expires, registration with BROKIS is no longer possible.
